Mark your calendars if you are interested in the U.S.-Japan geoeconomic partnership!

Georgia Tech Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta invite you to a timely symposium on one of the defining strategic questions of our time: how the United States and its East Asian partners — Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea — can build the supply chain resilience America needs, and what that means for the American Southeast.

📅 September 28, 2026 | Georgia Tech Alumni House, Atlanta, 9:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.

From semiconductor chips to rare earth minerals, from shipbuilding to EV batteries, the partnerships between the U.S. and its East Asian allies are being tested and transformed. This symposium brings together leading policymakers and practitioners to examine what is at stake — and what the Southeast stands to gain.

Featured Speakers:
🎤 Dr. Patrick Cronin (Hudson Institute) — Opening Keynote on the U.S. Geoeconomic Framework
🌏 Ambassador Alexander Tah-ray Yui — Taiwan's Representative to the United States, Luncheon Address
🇹🇼 Dr. Roy Chun Lee (Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research) — On the U.S.–Taiwan trade agreement
Dr. Kazuto Suzuki (University of Tokyo / Institute of Geoeconomics) — On Japan's rare earth strategy
🇰🇷 Dr. Seong-Hyon Lee (George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.–China Relations) — On South Korea's industrial partnerships with the U.S.

Plus a regional roundtable on what these global realignments mean for Atlanta and the broader Southeast, featuring Kiyo Kojima on what it would take to deepen the partnership between Georgia and Japan in the years ahead.

📍 In-person at the Alumni House, Georgia Tech

🎟️ Free and open to the public. Lunch and light refreshments will be served.
